The Tour in Cusco 5 days offers an incomparable adventure through some of the most emblematic destinations in the country. Starting in the historic city of Cusco, travelers have the opportunity to explore ancient Incan temples and experience the rich local culture. The journey then continues to the Sacred Valley, where you will visit fascinating archaeological sites and colorful indigenous markets.

The highlight of the tour is the visit to Machu Picchu, one of the wonders of the ancient world. Participants have the opportunity to marvel at the impressive Incan ruins and enjoy unparalleled panoramic views. In addition, the itinerary includes a visit to the Mountain of Colors, where travelers will be able to walk among surreal landscapes of multicolored mountains.

Itinerary

FIRST DAY: RECEPTION AND TOUR TO THE CITY OF CUSCO

Upon arrival at the airport, we will be waiting for you holding a sign with your name to transfer you to the selected hotel. When you arrive at the hotel you can taste the famous coca tea. This plant has properties that will help your body against altitude sickness. Then, you can rest and acclimatize a little at the hotel or if you want to take a gentle walk through the main streets of the city. Around 1:00 p.m. we will pick you up from the hotel to begin the tour of the city of Cusco and its surroundings. This excursion includes a visit to the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral of Cusco, the Church of Santo Domingo, the Qoricancha Temple and the nearby ruins of Q’enqo, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman fortress, ending at approximately 7 :00 pm

SECOND DAY: TOUR TO THE SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

We will pick you up between 8:00 am and 8:20 am to start the tour, making a stop at the natural viewpoint of Corao, where the guide will give you an introduction to the Sacred Valley. Enjoying this beautiful landscape, the first place to visit will be the Traditional Inca Market of Pisaq. Here you can make some purchases of souvenirs or crafts and then go up to the Archaeological Center of Pisaq, where after a short walk you will reach the main Inca sites. Continuing with the trip, you will go to the city of Urubamba to an exclusive restaurant, where you will taste the local cuisine. The fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo will be our stop in the afternoon. Finally we will go to the Ollantaytambo train station, to board the train at 4:30 pm bound for Aguas Calientes, arriving at approximately 6:10 pm We will spend the night at the selected hotel in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) .

THIRD DAY: TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU THE LOST CITY OF THE INCAS

After breakfast in the early hours of the day, we will climb to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, followed by a guided tour of approximately 2 hours through the citadel. On the tour you will visit the most important places in this city such as: the Plaza de Armas, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sundial, The Royal Rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows and The Cemeteries. After the tour of the citadel of Machu Picchu, you can optionally trek to the summit of Huaynapicchu or Mountain Sector, this will take a few hours round trip (this visit is without guided service). Then we will go down by bus to Aguas Calientes and in the afternoon we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our staff will be waiting for you to transfer and transport you by bus to the city of Cusco and take you to your hotel.

FOURTH DAY: TOUR TO THE VINICUNCA MOUNTAIN OF COLORS

Very early in the morning at 4:00 am, we will pass by your hotel in our private tourist transportation, to travel along the route to the south of the city of Cusipata -Paucarpata. The tour will last approximately 2 hours, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast (scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, fruit salad, hot drinks, etc.). We will continue for about 40 minutes to the checkpoint, which is where we will begin the walk there. Once you reach this point, our guide will give you the instructions and recommendations of the route along with the last steps to finally begin. The walk will last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes until you reach Vinicunca or Montaña de Colores at 5020 meters above sea level. Along the way we will observe the fauna and flora of the area, highlighting the llamas and alpacas that are in the care of shepherds, dressed in beautiful typical costumes of the region. Then passing through beautiful ravines heading to the highest parts, surrounded by snow-capped mountains (Ausangate). Almost upon reaching the top we will observe the change in landscape, the colorful mountain range – Vinicunca (5020 m/16,466 ft.). Arriving at this point between 10:30 am to 11:00 pm Here our guide will explain in detail about the orography, ecosystem and color of the mountain, and then take the most beautiful photos with the Rainbow Mountain. We will be able to observe the beautiful landscape from 5080 meters above sea level, then we will take the return route through the Red Valley viewpoint (red mountains). After walking through this ecosystem considered an Andean desert, we will then go to another point in Vinicunca for photos, then we will return to Llaqto, where our vehicle will be waiting for us. Then we will have a delicious buffet lunch with a wide variety of New Andean food. Then we will return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 pm

FIFTH DAY: FAREWELL AND AIR TRIP FROM CUSCO TO LIMA

Immediately after breakfast, we will go to the airport of the city of Cusco, which is located a few minutes from the historic center. To avoid complications, we must be there at least an hour before and complete the procedures for flight confirmation, check-in with the airline and pay the airport tax. We will say goodbye very gratefully and you will take the flight from the imperial city of Cusco to the capital of Peru, Lima.
